Slow Adventures in Slothville

Thursday on the beach

Filed under: Slothyness — shhville @ 2:12 pm

Good morning! Sorry I missed Wednesday. I can’t remember what I did yesterday except that it involved the beach. Today it’s sunny but cool. Odd weather around here.

Last night we went for a super fancy dinner at a super fancy restaurant. I had foi gras. And port, among other things. The meal was so rich, I actually felt a little sick when we got back. Oh, the trials of excess!

Every year around the middle of the first week of my vacation, I start in with the insomnia. So here’s what dawn looks like on our beach:

And now for some

and some

  1. Mmm… foi gras.

    Um, what is that exactly?

Have you ever had Stone Oven Pizza in Nags Head? It’s been 3 years since I’ve been there and I still crave the California style pizza.

    Hungry now…

  2. If I recall, foi gras is goose liver, is it not?

That looks like a heavenly location. Sand, surf, and coffee. Nice way to start the day.

  3. Ah, beautiful. I am envious. We were just at the beach last week, but the weather was uncooperative, and I did very little basking. I could watch the sunrise without leaving my bed, though.

  4. It’s like a commercial for international coffee! Or maxi pads.

    Either way, jealous.

  5. I don’t let my period stop me from eating too much and running down the beach with coffee sloshing out of my mug! Oh no, not me!!

  6. I do miss the eastern beaches sometimes! Looks like you are enjoying yourself! 🙂

  7. I am green. And while green is normally a flattering color for redheads, in this case it is not. 😦

  8. Foie gras? Chicago would be so disappointed. And port? Yummy!

I like the snowflake coffee mug.
