The Stepford Republicans

Filed under: Whateverall — shhville @ 9:33 pm

What is it with stuffy political types not being able to dress themselves? At a recent White House dinner, 4 women showed up in the same fussy tomato dress. This horrid thing is so Southern-mother-of-the-bride, it’s actually depressing. Not surprisingly, Laura Bush was one of the whackadoos who chose to wrap her entire body in placenta-colored lace. Way to go, ladies…

  1. I bet she’s counting the days to the end of this term so she can divorce his pathetic ass.

    Ugh.

  2. I think the sad thing is at least 3 women paid a lot of money to look that bad. I’m sure the First Lady gets all her dresses for free. But wouldn’t the sensible guest know what the Hostess was wearing and NOT wear that?

There’s the problem with the Republican party in a nutshell. No originality.

  3. maybe it was one of those dresses on the clearance rack that was 75% off, and you THINK that’s such a great deal, and then you wonder why there are so many of them left? maybe they are ugly! not a good deal!

  4. I am no fashion expert. Look it was only about a year ago that I was finally able to dress myself without needing Garanimals, but I know awful. And if this isn’t awful, it is at least looking at houses where awful lives. In fact, I think I may have coughed up things better than that.

  7. It’s one thing if it was a nice dress, but eww. Go watch some project runway or something ladies and get some better tastes.

  8. You’d think Oscar would design a couple of different Matron Friendly styles per holiday season. Perhaps he does only one kind dress for each store. The only 2 stores they seem to have in Washington DC are Talbot’s and JC Penney’s, according to the fashions worn by the local ladies. Perhaps they all drove out to the same Lord and Taylor in Virginia…

  9. Gah! Don’t even TALK to me about Talbots!
